Margaret's Story
Life
Went to New York City right after high school, not for any glamorous reasons, I needed a job and my sister needed a part-time babysitter while she did her Graduate studies at Columbia. So I got a job that let me out in time to meet her daughters on their way home from school.
I kicked around different parts of Wisconsin, lived and worked in Minneapolis and Chicago. Tried to go to school multiple times, it was just not for me.
I met my husband, Ron, through my job, in 1992 and moved to Ohio in 1993 to be with him and been married to him since 1994.
We haven't been blessed with kids.
I finally managed to quit smoking in Feb 2010 after 28 years. Woo Hoo! To anybody out there that is thinking about it, more power to ya but don't bother to try if you truly aren't ready to quit. mitted it won't stick for long. And I mean deep down, know its the thing you want the most, and not because of outside influences.
After a series of jobs that I hated, I am now an AVON rep and also do genealogical research for a reasonable fee. (See me in the credits of the Martin Sheen episode of NBC's "Who Do You Think You Are?" Ron works for Teradata. We spend our vacations visiting his uncles in MA or my family in Wisconsin, with the odd camping trip thrown in.
The wildest thing I ever did in high school was get into a fight in the cafeteria.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 10% of it to United Way, then spend the rest on mortgage, bills and family.
My best friend would tell you I'm very loving, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as aloof.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the basement and add on a deck. My dream home would be in Hawaii.
